thoughts from the wooden office

We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second thought, but when it comes to sending messages about life choices, people hesitate. The crude, vulgar, and often obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.

We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the "natural order of things." So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us with a choice:

Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?

A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it's least fortunate amongst them.

Whats your choice?

it is easier to be vulgar, to be jockular in the obscene, to be smart in the dirty, to be the best in the low peoples clubs to be seen in the crowds as part of a crowd rather than standing out of the crowd....it is easier to be led than lead. to criticize every decision made, to be the analyst for works already done when we have none of our own. that my friend is the fate of most of us....

I agree with you joyunspeakable. This is why I think the battle to stand out, to be different, to walk in the very footsteps of our Lord is one constant battle that we all loose once in a while.
I have though wondered, since some of us do not pass the vulgar messages and all, there is the other bit of angels, blessings etc....pass this to 10 people and something good will happen to you by dara dara... Doyou think its real?Coz a bit of me thinks its cheapening blessings, and kinda makes God a magician or somethinng like that.....u can accuse me of being too spiri...

gosh, you indeed are too spiri....but thats better than the luck we all have been cheapened to. any wonder that most guys conned out by pyramid schemes were brethren. we are all too eager to make a quick kill even from God himself. that's why statements like 'this really works' 'forward to 40 people'....or 'misfortunes will strike at you' etc is a dry attempt by appetized wet fellows looking for quickies that don't work. we also have guys who have perfected the act of manipulation...'i feel the Lord saying there are 7 people here ready to give 20,000/= for the work of God. Please stand....' 6 people will give 10k and the Lord will bless them. it is more blessed to give than recieve.if you dont give the Lord will not bless you. you will remain with your problems and God is saying to put him to the test....And oh the tithe bit that continues to draw alot of issues.........did you know that the food in the storehouse of God was not just meant for Pastors but also for widows, orphans, the poor in the society? No? i don't blame you....cos the tithe is for the men of God.......

Joyunspeakable, that bit of 'there are 7 people here who will give 10k blah blah makes me laugh coz a makes fun of it so well its unblievable. I think we've totally lost teh whole meaning of tithe and offering and since most professors of the name of the Lord are lazy, we wait for the pastors to read and interprete the bible for us-no time to counter check the 'word' etc. Its a pity.
The situation is made worse by the fact that people are desperate to believe anything will work for them so whatever comes passes in th notion that if I am good in this particular issue then God will see and remember me etc.
